It Breaks My Heart…

As I walked down the long wide sidewalk through campus I looked to the left of me and saw posts in the ground with silhouetted paper people attached to them. On each of them was a fact about abuse. With each one I saw my heart shattered more and more. Abuse is so hard for me to understand. I can’t even understand why someone would kick a dog or not feed their pet just to watch them suffer, let alone hurt a family member or a friend, someone you supposedly love. It makes me angry and sad and confused all at once. There are many children, adults, and elderly people in this world that have been, or are being abused to by someone in their family or by someone they know. And for the people that haven’t been physically abused it is very likely that they have been mentally or emotionally abused. Let’s make an end to this. Grandparents, parents, friends, boyfriends, girlfriends, (even pet owners) treat the people (and animals) in your lives with respect. Treat others the way you want to be treated. Love yourself and love others. It’s not that difficult, it doesn’t need to be that hard, in fact it’s quite simple. Let’s make it simple. End. The. Abuse. Now. There’s no day better than today to make it stop, to get some help, to put an end to this. TODAY.
